I stand on stilts towering so tall
Nothing can pull me down
But one minor motion could make me fall
I’m teetering to the ground
‘Tween my hands and my feet I have all that I need
But greed still reminds me of more
So I’ll sit and pull teeth
At the bits of my peace
And wait for something to form

But thin limbs can’t hold like cards to a wall
My head is in the clouds
If others dreams fold this hand I will hold
So please will you hear me out

Every picture I paint is a memory displayed
Each pigment a different result
If the colors do fade or if the canvas is frayed
I hope it’s still beautiful
But I’ll set the tone even if its monochrome
Cause the devil is in the detail
And the details alone are connected like bones
So the memories will never be frail

So this one thing I’ll hold as the image erodes
When we take our final bows
and the picture erased leaves a scar on the page
So you can’t mark me out
